Depicting color was deeply important to post-Impressionist master Vincent van Gogh (1883-1953), whose Starry Night Over the Rhone, and Starry Night was his answer to the challenge of painting at night. Van Gogh, whose work impacted modern Expressionism, Fauvism and early Abstraction, was an astoundingly prolific artist who produced his vast body of work in a mere 10 years, at one point creating 150 paintings and drawings within one year. The night sky, and the effects of light at night, were subjects of many of van Goghs most famous paintings. He also relished painting outdoors, and the uplifting effect nature had upon him fed his creativity. Museum Sized 22in Tall Plasma Globe - Red Plasma Effect - 15in Diameter Ball

This Plasma Globe is part of a New Collection of Museum Sized Red Plasma Globes that we have produced. These Plasma Balls feature red plasma lighning with red/orange tips. On a low-power setting, small red tendrils swirl around in the center of the globe with a gentle lightning-strike motion, but once you turn the power up, the plasma lightning turns into a full blown galactic sun-storm. This gas mixture produces a very active effect with each plasma "arm" splitting into several energized fingers towards the tips. The plasma current produced when you place your hand on the glass is thicker than other mixtures, and moves in a way resembling a tongue of flame.
Due to variations in the manufacturing process, no two globes are exactly alike, making each one truly a collector's item!
